Job summary

Private Advertiser in Melaka seeks a QA/QC professional to develop and maintain project quality procedures. You will monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings, specs and requirements, and coordinate inspections and testing per ITPs.

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 3-5 years of QA/QC experience is expected. You will manage quality documentation and collaborate with consultants, contractors and site teams in Melaka.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of QA/QC experience in construction or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of QC procedures, inspection processes and testing requirements.
• Experience managing ITPs, method statements, materials submission and quality docs.
• Familiar with Malaysian Standards and JKR specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain QA/QC procedures and plans.

• Conduct and coordinate site inspections and material testing per ITP.
• Ensure materials, workmanship and completed works meet quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation (ITPs, checklists, reports).

• Identify NCRs and ensure corrective and preventive actions are closed.
• Monitor testing activities and required lab/field tests.
• Participate in quality audits, inspections and project meetings.
• Maintain documentation and records for project quality and handover.

Job description

This is a Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) role within the construction industry, responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining project quality procedures and ensuring all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures and plans

Monitor construction activities to ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements

Conduct and coordinate site inspections, material inspections and testing in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

Ensure construction materials, workmanship and completed works meet the required quality standards

Prepare, review and maintain QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, checklists, inspection reports, test reports, material approvals, quality records

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and site teams on quality-related matters

Identify and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are properly implemented and closed

Monitor testing activities and ensure required laboratory and field tests are carried out accordingly

Participate in quality audits, inspections and project meetings

Maintain proper documentation and records for project quality requirements and handover

About you

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management or a related discipline

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in QA/QC within the construction or infrastructure industry

Strong knowledge of construction quality control procedures, inspection processes and testing requirements

Experience in preparing and managing ITPs, method statements, materials submission, Shop Drawing, Master list Drawing, checklists, Site Memo/NCRs and quality documentation

Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and contract requirements

Familiarity with relevant Malaysian Standards, JKR specifications and applicable quality requirements

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Able to work independently and effectively coordinate with consultants, contractors and site personnel

Willing to be based at Melaka and travel when required
