About the role
We are seeking a dedicated QAQC Engineer to join our company. Based in Sepanggar, Sabah, this role is instrumental in ensuring that all construction projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance. As QAQC Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance and quality control processes across our construction operations. This position is critical to safeguarding our reputation for excellence and ensuring all work adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements and client specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive quality inspections and audits on construction materials, equipment and workmanship at all project stages
- Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control plans tailored to project specifications and regulatory requirements
- Document inspection results, non-conformances and corrective actions using standardised reporting systems
- Perform testing of materials including concrete, steel, aggregates and other construction components to verify compliance with specifications
- Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors and project managers to address quality issues and implement corrective measures promptly
- Maintain detailed records of all quality inspections, test results and certifications for project documentation
- Identify potential safety risks and hazards on site and recommend preventive measures
- Liaise with clients and relevant authorities to ensure transparency regarding quality standards and compliance status
- Provide guidance and training to site personnel on quality requirements and best practices
What we're looking for
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a QAQC Engineer or Quality Inspector in the construction industry, preferably with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methodologies, building codes and relevant Malaysian Standards (MS) and international standards
- Proficiency in using testing equipment and quality control instruments such as slump cones, compression testing machines and moisture metres
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify non-conformances and deviations from specifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly and liaise effectively with stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment on fast-paced construction sites
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between project sites as required
- Familiarity with construction management software and digital documentation systems is advantageous
- Certifications such as ISO 9001 QA/QC or construction quality management qualifications are highly desirable
