Job summary

Advantek in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Quality Supervisor to drive the QA/QC program on site. You will lead QA Operators and Technicians, manage non-conforming products, and ensure data integrity for measurements and reports.

The role oversees ISO 9001 and IATF16949 compliance, VDA 6.3 style audits, and the Dim Lab activities, with responsibility for training, KPI tracking, and cross-site liaison to headquarters.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering; minimum 4 years in QA/QC in manufacturing.
• Experience with ISO 9001 QMS and IATF16949 requirements.
• Familiar with 8D, FMEA, PPAP, SPC and GR&R.
• Strong leadership and communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise QA Operators and Technicians in Malaysia.
• Manage containment and disposition of non-conforming products to closure using data analysis.
• Support carrier tape tool and product design qualifications through design review and measurements.
• Ensure swift resolution and closure of customer incidents and production issues.

Position Summary: This function supports tactical and technical QA and Production Operation requirements to manufacture carrier tape products. This function supports carrier tape tool and product design qualifications through design review, measurements and data analysis. This function also supports the resolution of customer incidents, manufacturing process or yield issues, and product issues. The role require supports site manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include process development and execution assurance of vendor certification, incoming inspection, QA lab management, quality metric generation and customer issue resolution (8D). The Quality Supervisor has overall site responsibility for Quality Management System implementation, the internal auditing program, ISO9001 re-certification and IATF16949 compliance activities. Also, responsible for the site training process and cross-site and headquarters quality liaison.

Responsibilities:

• Trains, certifies, and coaches QA Operators (Malaysia only), QA Associates and Technicians, providing them with the support necessary to perform their tasks and ensuring that they are able to perform according to set goals and targets.
• Manages the containment and disposition of non-conforming products up to closure ensuring that the appropriate resolution is given derived through accurate data analysis.
• Supports carrier tape tool and product design qualifications through design review, measurements and data analysis maintaining the integrity of systems and data that leads to a successful qualification.
• Supports the accurate validation, swift resolution, and effective closure of customer incidents, manufacturing and production process and yield issues.
• Ensures sufficient Dim Lab resource are available to support operational requirements
• Trains, certifies, and coaches QA Operators (Malaysia only), QA Associates and Technicians to meet set job expectations
• Manages team key performance metrics ensuring that they meet or exceed set goals
• Coordinates with other departments matters related to Dim Lab support and systems
• Manages the containment and disposition of non-conforming products up to closure
• Supports the validation, resolution, and closure of customer incidents
• Controls monitoring and measuring tools and equipment
• Maintains integrity of systems and data
• Timely completion of Aspect-Impact Assessment for QA Department.
• Exercises other authority as delegated by the Plant Director (Malaysia only)/ QA Manager
• Participates in collegial planning for policies, procedures, and systems—driving problem-solving and performance monitoring (e.g., DimLab turnaround time, MRR closure, calibration due dates, QA tech training, performance, and adherence to quality protocols)—through active participation in standing and ad hoc committees, task forces, and project teams.
• Performs such other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane or related to and / or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree preferably in the field of Engineering
• At least 4 years experience in quality assurance, quality engineering or quality control in a manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of an effective Quality Management System
• Familiarity with the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines and other measuring equipment or tools
• Familiar and with working experience in FMEA, 8D, 5W2H Analysis, 7QC Tools, Statistical Techniques
• Familiar with ISO 9001 QMS, its elements and requirements
• Familiar with carrier tape products and customer process like those from the semiconductor industry
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
• Good communication skills both written and oral using the English language
• Can effectively initiate and manage meetings
• Computer literate, able to use office software programs that will be needed in the fulfillment of the work of a Dimensional Lab Coordinator.
• Experience in ISO 14001 Requirements, Process and Internal Quality Audits, IATF 16949 Requirements, Process and Internal Quality Audits, APQP, PPAP, MSA, GR&R, SPC, Control Plan, Process Validation, Risk-Opportunity Assessment, VDA 6.3 Risk- Based Process Auditing,Equipment Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (eFMEA) and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA).
