Job summary

North West Enterprise Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned Purchasing/Procurement professional to manage local and overseas sourcing, negotiate optimal contracts, and drive cost optimization.

The role involves cost reviews, supplier management, and close coordination with shipping agents for imports. You will lead a team of purchasers while ensuring high-quality, timely procurement activities across diverse markets.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher in Purchasing or Material Management or equivalent.
• Mandarin is mandatory; Bahasa Malaysia and English to communicate with diverse clients and stakeholders.
• 3–5 years of relevant purchasing/procurement experience.
• Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Able to manage a team of purchasers and work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end purchasing and procurement for local and overseas needs.
• Source materials, goods, products and services; negotiate favorable contracts and terms.
• Review and update costs and quality to identify cost-optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate with shipping/forwarding agents on imports from China and other countries.
• Engage with suppliers on quality issues, replacements, samples, and pricing.
• Provide product costing for the sales team and update costing as needed.
• Lead and manage a team of purchasers and collaborate effectively across the department.
• Handle ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job description

Responsible for purchasing and procurement functions for Local and Oversea purchase.

Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.

To review and update existing and new products' costs and quality to recommend opportunities for cost optimization.

Follow up closely with the shipping & forwarding agent on all the import shipments from China or other countries.

Deal with suppliers on quality issues, product replacement, sample requests, and pricing.

Provide product costing for the sales team and time to time update costing.

Able to manage a team of purchasers and work in a team.

Handle other ad-hoc matters from time to time assigned by superior.

Requirements: -

• The candidate must possess a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate in Purchasing / Material Management or equivalent.
• Required language(s):Mandarin (must) Bahasa Malaysia, English to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
• At least 3-5Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Add advantage if knows ERP system.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
