Job summary

HID Global, located in Bandar Indahpura, Malaysia, is seeking a Purchasing Executive to support daily procurement activities. The role involves issuing POs, coordinating with suppliers, and sourcing indirect materials while ensuring cost efficiency and supplier performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years in procurement or related fields, with English and Mandarin language skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in any disciplinary or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in procurement or related roles (Purchasing, Materials, Supply Chain).
• High integrity, assertive and honest.

Responsibilities

• Generate Purchase Orders after vetting requisitions.
• Coordinate with internal customers, warehouse and suppliers for JIT deliveries.
• Source and purchase indirect materials, stationery, hardware and services.
• Support PRs, fixed assets and petty cash buys.
• Negotiate best commercial terms for indirect purchasing; renew contracts.
• Issue RFQs with approved vendors for various materials.
• Ensure requisitions are issued and approved with proper costing.
• Convert PRs to POs and send to suppliers.
• Analyze capacity and material availability for scheduling.
• Communicate with planner and sales to understand demand.
• Manage subcontracting of material planning and semi-material delivery.
• Maintain adequate inventory and prudent stock levels.
• Attend delivery complaints and follow up with suppliers/warehouse.
• Request quotations, negotiate pricing & MOQs; liaise on data sheets.
• Maintain/create item codes and ERP procurement data.
• Handle import shipments and import clearance documentation.
• Prepare purchase reports including cost analysis.
• Maintain records and procurement data; keep them up-to-date.
• Maintain preferred supplier lists and update as needed.
• Facilitate tenders for services and high-value orders.
• Source new suppliers/products to support new product development and reduce risk.
• Address supplier quality issues with other departments.
