Job summary

VTech Telecommunications (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchasing Executive to manage sourcing, vendor setup, quotations, and PO issuance for direct and indirect materials. The role involves monitoring delivery dates, ensuring PR accuracy, and assisting in prioritizing purchasing activities.

The position requires effective negotiation with suppliers on price, lead times, and payment terms to align with operational needs and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or procurement is preferred.
• Familiarity with supplier management and vendor negotiations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and price comparison for approval.
• Create new vendor setup and quotations in the system.
• Issue purchase orders for direct and indirect materials.
• Monitor and expedite delivery dates according to requests and reschedules.
• Ensure PRs include all required dates.
• Assist superior to prioritize purchasing activities.
• Negotiate with vendors on price, lead time, and payment terms to meet operational needs.
• Develop supply chain strategies to meet material needs.

Job description

To perform sourcing and price comparison for approval.

To create new vendor set up and quotation in system.

To issue PO for direct and indirect materials.

Monitor and expedite delivery date according to request date/ reschedule date.

To ensure PR indicated all the date required.

To assist superior to prioritize the purchasing activities.

Negotiate with vendors in terms of price, lead time and payment term to meet company’s operational requirement.

Brainstorm and develop supply chain strategies to meet customer and business unit strategic material needs.

To perform vendor assessment, monitor and evaluate vendor’s performance on overall cost, delivery and quality.

Ability to analyse supplier capabilities, market trends and technologies to make insightful buying decisions.

Coordinate with planning, engineering, QA, warehouse and logistic or other department when necessary.

Review data to advise changes to policies.

Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by the superior.

Maintain purchase database and records.

Responsible to understand and comply to related Environmental Management

System and Occupational Safety and Health Management System requirement.

Responsible to communicate and coordinate with vendors regarding compliance with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA).
