Job summary

Modernria Plastic Industries in Penang seeks a Purchasing Officer to source raw materials, coordinate with production planners, liaise with suppliers, and maintain records. You will monitor inventory, evaluate suppliers, and work with warehouse, production, quality, and finance teams to ensure timely deliveries and cost efficiency.

The role requires a diploma/degree in supply chain or related field, 2–3 years manufacturing purchasing experience, strong communication, SQL and MS Office skills,

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain, purchasing, business admin, or related field.
• 2–3 years purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Familiar with SQL and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Source raw materials, packaging, and production supplies.
• Coordinate with Production Planners for material availability per production schedules.
• Liaise with suppliers on quotations, POs, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Follow up on deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages.
• Maintain purchasing records and documentation.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain good relationships.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Production, Quality, and Finance departments.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies.

• Source and purchase raw materials, packaging materials, and production supplies.
• Coordinate with Production Planners to ensure material availability based on production schedules.
• Liaise with suppliers on quotations, Purchase Orders (PO), delivery schedules, and order status.
• Follow up on material deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid production shortages.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain good supplier relationships.
• Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Quality, and Finance departments.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with production planners, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Familiar with SQL systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Responsible, organized, and able to work independently under pressure.
