Job summary

SPACE UP DESIGN SDN. BHD. in Alor Setar, Kedah seeks a Purchasing Executive to manage end-to-end procurement across manufacturing, transport and logistics operations.

The role focuses on sourcing, purchasing and supplier relationship management to support operational efficiency and growth. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in purchasing or inventory roles, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in Excel/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and inventory control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software or ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Knowledge of cost analysis and budget management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in manufacturing, transport or logistics industries is preferred.
• Proficiency in Malay and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance and reliability
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities and delivery schedules
• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers to achieve competitive rates and favourable conditions
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain appropriate stock levels
• Track and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, quality issues and delivery concerns
• Analyse purchasing data and provide reports on spending, supplier performance and cost savings opportunities
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and support business objectives
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and relevant regulations

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Executive to join SPACE UP DESIGN SDN. BHD. in Alor Setar, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing the procurement operations of our manufacturing, transport and logistics business. As a Purchasing Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, procuring and managing the acquisition of materials, goods and services required to support our operational efficiency and business growth.
