Job summary

BH Electronics in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Executive to manage purchasing, inventory and material planning. You will source new parts and alternatives, negotiate best prices, coordinate samples, and support production with timely procurement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Studies/Administration/Management.
3–5 years of related purchasing/inventory/materials experience.
Proficient in Excel with good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Source new parts and alternatives to support cost efficiency.
Identify and introduce competitive materials with no supply constraints.
Negotiate with suppliers on price and terms.
Coordinate material samples for approval and qualification.
Participate in early material selection and phase out obsolete materials.
Procure and expedite parts/materials to support production.
Study shipment forecasts and lead times to aid planning.
Follow up with vendors to meet production schedules and perform JIT.
Monitor vendor performance on delivery, price, quality, and service.
Perform vendor audits with QA when needed.
Inform purchasing/accounts on price discrepancies in PO.
Liaise with planner and store for material status updates.
Monitor KPIs and risk elements in purchasing.

To source for new parts / equivalent to support for cost efficiency.
To identify and introduce alternative materials with more competitive costs and no supply constraints.
To negotiate with supplier on best price and optimum purchasing terms.
To coordinate new material samples request for approval and qualification purposes.
To participate in material selection in the early stage of the new project, and eliminate materials that are not generic, have been discontinued or have short-term suspension risks.
To procure and expedite for the parts / raw material to support Production.
Study the shipment forecast and purchasing / material planning, and analyze the lead-time required by supplier to ease for overall planning.
Follow up with vendors for order confirmation and delivery date to ensure their shipment will able to meet our production schedule. Perform JIT practice.
Monitor and evaluate Vendor’s performance, including delivery, pricing, quality and services.
To perform vendor audit if necessary together with QA team.
Inform Material Control / Account if there were discrepancies with agreed prices in Purchase Order.
Liaise with planner and Store In-Charge for production flow of material and raw material status update.
To monitor Purchasing Department KPI and Risk Element, and fullfill accordingly.
To undertake any other related jobs directed by superior from time to time.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
At least 3-5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Required Skill(s): Microsoft Excel, Good Communication Skill, Team Player.
Preferably Senior Executive specialized in Purchasing/Inventory/Material & Warehouse Management or equivalent.
