Job summary

Southern Cable Sdn Bhd is seeking a Clerk (Purchasing) in Kuala Ketil, Kedah to support procurement and inventory flow. You will process POs, manage supplier data, and coordinate delivery schedules to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and good communication with suppliers and internal teams; ERP exposure (SAP/Oracle) is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Word for purchasing tasks.
• Experience with purchasing systems or inventory software.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare purchase orders for suppliers accurately.
• Maintain and update supplier databases and contacts.
• Coordinate with suppliers on order details, delivery and pricing.
• Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages or discrepancies.
• Receive and verify goods against PO and delivery notes.
• Prepare and file purchasing records, invoices and payments.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and resolve delays.
• Provide general admin support to the purchasing team.
• Liaise between internal teams and suppliers to smooth procurement.
• Assist with cost analysis and supplier optimisation opportunities.
