Job summary

Southern Cable Sdn Bhd in Kuala Ketil, Kedah, is seeking a Clerk (Purchasing) to join our team. This full-time role supports purchasing operations, manages supplier relationships, processes orders, and ensures smooth materials flow across the organisation.

You will help maintain records, coordinate deliveries, and assist with cost analysis to identify savings opportunities. Prior experience with ERP systems is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience with purchasing/procurement processes and supplier management.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare purchase orders for suppliers, ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain supplier databases and contact information.
• Coordinate order details, delivery schedules and pricing with suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages or discrepancies.
• Receive and verify incoming goods against POs and delivery notes.
• Maintain purchasing records, invoices and payment documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and resolve delays or issues.
• Support purchasing team with general admin tasks and clerical work.
• Liaise between internal departments and external suppliers for smooth procurement.
• Assist with cost analysis and identify potential savings and optimizations.
