Job summary

AG Engineering Works (M) in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a procurement specialist to manage supplier sourcing, evaluate performance and ensure orders meet specs, price and quality. You will collaborate with warehouse and management to support timely deliveries and cost control.

You will build relations with key suppliers, forecast supply and demand to prevent stockouts, and provide regular reports to management on purchasing activities.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing & evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery and service
• To ensure purchase order issued according to purchase specification , price , quantity, quality and compliance with company policies
• Assist on seeking reliable suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and work closely with warehouse/store
• Feedback and follow up on the issues regarding unqualified quality, shortage and claim with supplier
• Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out of stock
• Work within budget constraints to optimize purchasing decisions and control costs
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain
• Weekly/bi-weekly/ monthly reporting to management

• SOURCING & EVALUATE SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE BASED ON QUALITY, COST, DELIVERY AND SERVICE
• TO ENSURE PURCHASE ORDER ISSUED ACCORDING TO PURCHASE SPECIFICATION , PRICE , QUANTITY, QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH COMPANY POLICIES.
• ASSIST ON SEEKING RELIABLE SUPPLIERS TO ENSURE ON-TIME DELIVERIES AND WORK CLOSELY WITH WAREHOUSE/STORE.
• FEEDBACK AND FOLLOW UP ON THE ISSUES REGARDING UNQUALIFIED QUALITY, SHORTAGE AND CLAIM WITH SUPPLIER.
• FORECAST SUPPLY AND DEMAND TO PREVENT OVERSTOCKING AND RUNNING OUT OF STOCK.
• WORK WITHIN BUDGET CONSTRAINTS TO OPTIMIZE PURCHASING DECISIONS AND CONTROL COSTS.
• CULTIVATE AND MAINTAIN POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY SUPPLIERS TO ENSURE A RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT SUPPLY CHAIN.
• WEEKLY/BI-WEEKLY/ MONTHLY REPORTING TO MANAGEMENT
