SKS Group is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This full-time role focuses on managing project costs, budgets and financial control across the construction lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within budget and maintaining high quality standards.

The successful candidate will prepare cost estimates, monitor expenditures, handle variations and provide value engineering insights across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement practices and cost management.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts for construction projects at various stages.
• Conducting detailed measurement and valuation of works in progress to ensure accurate billing and cost control.
• Managing variations, claims and contract negotiations to protect project margins and client interests.
• Monitoring expenditure and preparing regular cost reports to track project financial performance against budget.
• Liaising with contractors, consultants and clients to clarify specifications, resolve disputes and facilitate smooth project delivery.
• Preparing tender documentation and analysing contractor bids to support procurement decisions.
• Maintaining comprehensive project records, including contracts, correspondence, invoices and cost documentation.
• Providing expert advice on cost management strategies and value engineering opportunities.
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards and relevant regulations.

About the role

SKS Group is seeking a talented Project Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor, where you will play a critical role in managing project costs, budgets and financial control throughout the construction lifecycle. As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. • Knowledge of Malaysian construction standards, building codes and regulations
