Job summary

Classic Green Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This full-time role involves managing costs, budgets, and financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

The successful candidate will handle cost estimates, tender documentation, variations, and final accounts while liaising with contractors, clients and engineers to resolve cost issues.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years' experience in quantity surveying within construction.
• Strong cost estimation and budget management skills.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender docs.
• Monitor project costs and expenditure to keep to budgets.
• Conduct site inspections and measurements for quantity assessments.
• Prepare and submit variations orders and contract claims.
• Liaise with contractors, clients, architects and engineers on cost issues.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.

About the role

Classic Green Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in our construction projects. As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, budgets, and financial aspects of construction projects from inception through completion. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects and contribute directly to the success of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation for construction projects
• Monitoring project costs and expenditure throughout the construction phase to ensure budgets are maintained
• Conducting site inspections and measurements to gather information for quantity assessments
• Preparing and submitting variation orders and contract claims as required
• Liaising with contractors, clients, architects and engineers to resolve cost and commercial issues
• Preparing interim valuations and final accounts for projects
• Analysing tender submissions and recommending cost-effective solutions
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation related to project costs and contracts
• Assisting with project planning and resource allocation to optimise costs

What we're looking for

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
• Strong proficiency in cost estimation and budget management
• Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and commercial practices
• Proficiency with quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
