Private Advertiser seeks a Project Planning Specialist to develop, maintain, and update the Project Master Schedule using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with scope, milestones, and contractual deliverables.
You will monitor progress, analyse variances, coordinate with design, procurement, construction and subcontractors, and produce monthly progress reports with dashboards in Excel/Power BI.
This role involves developing, maintaining, and updating project master schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project scope, milestones, and contractual deliverables. You will monitor actual progress against baseline programmes, identify schedule variances and delays, and coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and specialist teams to obtain and consolidate progress information. The position requires performing schedule analysis, identifying schedule risks, and developing mitigation and recovery strategies to minimise delay impacts and achieve project completion milestones.
Key responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update the Project Master Schedule using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with the project scope, milestones, programme requirements, and contractual deliverables.
Prepare and maintain the approved baseline programme and monitor actual progress against the baseline, identifying schedule variances, delays, and potential impacts.
Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, specialist subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to obtain, verify, and consolidate progress information for schedule updates.
Perform schedule analysis, including critical path and float analysis, to identify schedule risks, potential delays, and their impacts on key project milestones.
Identify, analyse, and assess the causes and impacts of project delays and develop practical mitigation and recovery strategies to minimise delay impacts and achieve the approved project completion milestones.
Prepare and maintain recovery programmes, including activity resequencing, resource optimisation, additional manpower, extended working hours, acceleration measures, and other appropriate recovery actions.
Prepare, compile, and issue Monthly Project Progress Reports covering overall project progress, planned versus actual performance, key milestones, critical activities, schedule status, manpower, productivity, procurement, design and construction progress, major issues, risks, delays, mitigation measures, and recovery actions.
Develop and maintain project reporting dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or other relevant reporting tools to provide clear visualisation of project performance.
Track and report key project performance indicators (KPIs), including progress, manpower, man-hours, productivity, planned versus actual performance, and schedule performance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of baseline programmes, schedule revisions, progress updates, monthly reports, recovery programmes, delay analyses, and planning-related correspondence.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, QS or a related discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant project planning/project controls experience, preferably in Hospital Project.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is required.
Good knowledge of Microsoft software; experience with Power BI or other project reporting tools is an advantage.
Equivalent certification is an advantage.
Willing to be based at Melaka and travel when required.
