Job summary

Exentec Services Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Project Scheduler to plan, monitor, and update construction schedules across design, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities in Penang.

You will lead scheduling using Primavera P6, prepare baseline and look-ahead programmes, track progress, identify delays and risks, and report to project management to keep milestones on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction planning/scheduling.
• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 is mandatory.
• Experience in Design & Build construction projects is highly preferred.
• Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, industrial, data centre, or high-tech projects is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of sequencing, scheduling, critical path, and progress monitoring.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Excel for reports and analyses.
• Good understanding of drawings, specs, and site activities.
• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced Design & Build environment.
• Willing to work on project sites and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare baseline programmes, detailed project schedules, look-ahead schedules, and recovery programmes.
• Monitor project progress against the approved programme and identify delays, critical activities, and schedule risks.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Construction Teams, subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure activities are properly planned and executed.
• Develop and maintain schedules covering design, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor milestones, critical path, planned vs. actual progress, and overall schedule performance.
• Collect and verify progress information from site teams and subcontractors for regular schedule updates.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, progress curves, and schedule narratives.
• Identify schedule constraints, delays, and potential impacts, and work with the project team to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
• Review and monitor subcontractor programmes to ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.
• Support the project team in assessing the schedule impact of variations, design changes, delays, and other project issues.
• Maintain proper planning and scheduling records and provide timely reports to project management.
• Support project management in achieving project milestones and timely project completion.

Requirements

Experience in tool/equipment installation is an added advantage.

Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, industrial, data centre, or other high-tech construction projects will be an advantage.

Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project scheduling, critical path, and progress monitoring.

Experienced in preparing baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and progress reports.

Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.

Good understanding of construction drawings, project specifications, and site activities.

Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced Design & Build construction environment.

Willing to work on project sites and travel when required.
