Job summary

Alloy Enterprises in Malaysia seeks an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center HVAC systems. You will oversee design coordination, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning, and handover, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets.

You will manage site teams, coordinate with clients, consultants, and main contractors, and drive risk, cost, and commercial controls while maintaining strong relationships for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience in HVAC project delivery
• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial/industrial/data center projects
• Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC, AHUs, ventilation, and BMS integration
• Experience with mission-critical or data center projects is an advantage
• Understanding of HVAC design, installation sequences, and T&C processes
• Knowledge of contract management, project controls, and cost management
• Familiar with codes, standards, and authority requirements
• MS Project / Primavera, MS Excel, and reporting tools

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage HVAC projects from design coordination, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning to handover
• Ensure projects delivered per contract scope, specifications, schedule, and budget
• Develop and monitor project execution plans, master schedule, and manpower allocation
• Oversee critical path activities and implement recovery plans
• Manage project cost control, budget forecasting, and cash flow
• Review and approve subcontractor progress claims and variation orders
• Identify, evaluate, and submit variation orders and EOT claims
• Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial requirements
• Act as primary contact with clients, consultants, and main contractors
• Lead project meetings and ensure timely submission of shop drawings and technical docs
• Maintain client relationships to support repeat business
• Lead and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and site teams
• Coordinate with MEP, CSA, vendors, and commissioning teams
• Ensure effective communication between site, engineering, procurement, and management
• Ensure QA/QC compliance, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
• Drive safety culture and site safety compliance
• Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance
• Identify and manage risks related to design, schedule, cost, and resources
• Proactively resolve site issues and escalations with mitigation plans

Job description

What you will do:

The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of HVAC systems for large‑scale data center and mission critical projects. This role ensures safe, timely, cost‑effective, and quality project execution, while serving as the primary interface with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

The Project Manager will lead site teams, manage project risks, and drive operational excellence from contract award through project completion and handover.

How you will do it:

Project Delivery & Execution

• Lead and manage HVAC projects from design coordination, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning (T&C), to final handover

• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract scope, specifications, schedule, and budget

• Develop and monitor project execution plans, master schedule, and manpower allocation

• Oversee critical path activities and implement recovery plans when needed

Cost, Contract & Commercial Management

• Manage project cost control, budget forecasting, and cash flow

• Review and approve subcontractor progress claims and variation orders

• Identify, evaluate, and submit variation orders and extension of time (EOT) claims

• Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial requirements

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as the primary point of contact with clients, consultants, and main contractors

• Lead project meetings (technical, progress, coordination, and commercial)

• Ensure timely submission and approval of shop drawings, method statements, and technical documents

• Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and future opportunities

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and site teams

• Coordinate closely with MEP, CSA, vendors, and commissioning teams

• Ensure effective communication between site, engineering, procurement, and management teams

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements, authority regulations, and industry standards

• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies and site safety requirements

• Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify and manage project risks related to design, schedule, cost, and resources

• Proactively resolve site issues and technical challenges

• Escalate critical risks with mitigation plans in a timely manner
