SEDC GLOBAL BUSINESS SERVICES SDN. BHD. seeks a Head of Project Operations to provide strategic leadership across project mobilisations, execution and close-out. You will steer Project Directors and Managers, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, cost, quality and contractual requirements.
You will review plans, budgets and resources, identify risks and drive corrective actions while coordinating with Commercial, Finance, HR and QSHE. Senior leadership and strong governance are essential.
Provide overall leadership and direction for the company's project operations, overseeing projects from pre-mobilisation through execution, completion, handover and close-out.
Key responsibilities
Lead and guide Project Directors, Project Managers and other project leads, ensuring clear accountability and effective performance
Review and monitor project execution plans, budgets, resources and deliverables to ensure compliance with approved scope, schedule, cost, quality and contractual requirements
Identify significant project delays, cost pressures, risks and performance gaps, and direct appropriate recovery and corrective actions
Coordinate project operational matters with Commercial & Contracts, Finance, Procurement, Human Resources and QSHE, resolving or escalating issues affecting delivery
Monitor project financial and commercial performance, including budgets, expenditure, claims, variations and extension-of-time applications
Participate in tender preparation, proposals and business development activities, providing operational and technical input
Ensure awarded projects are effectively handed over from the tender team and appropriately planned and mobilised
Ensure project operations comply with applicable laws, contractual requirements, company policies and QSHE requirements
Oversee the allocation of project manpower, plant and equipment, and support performance management of key project personnel
Manage relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and joint-venture partners; establish project governance, reporting and continuous improvement
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline
Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or professional project management certification is an added advantage
Valid CIDB registration or other certification required for project site access, where applicable
Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure project delivery
At least 5 years in a senior project leadership or multi-project oversight role
Proven experience overseeing major infrastructure, road, bridge, civil engineering or complex construction projects
Strong experience in project planning, execution, cost and schedule control, contract administration and risk management
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills, with high integrity and professional judgement
