Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (High-Rise) to lead on a major Shah Alam site. You will supervise engineers, drive construction methodologies, and support the Project Manager in delivery.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, PEng/PE registration, PMP, and 15–20 years in construction with high-rise and infrastructure exposure. Travel between sites is expected.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (High-Rise) to be based full-time at our high-rise construction site in Shah Alam Section 9. The successful candidate will take a lead technical role on site, supervising a team of engineers, driving construction methodology decisions, and supporting the Project Manager in the overall delivery of the project.

Key responsibilities :

Lead multiple concurrent projects across infrastructure, earthworks, high-rise, and water/wastewater treatment — from pre-construction through handover — while leading and mentoring Project Managers, Site Agents, and Engineers across disciplines.

Set overall schedules, budgets, and resource allocation across the portfolio, and provide technical oversight on complex works (earthworks, piling/foundations, high-rise RC frame/formwork, WTP/STP).

Drive tendering and feasibility for new projects, oversee contract administration and dispute resolution, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (CIDB, DOSH, DOE, JPS, SPAN).

Establish Group-wide SHE and QA/QC standards, manage key stakeholder relationships (clients, consultants, JV partners, the Board), and advise on strategic risks, opportunities, and business development.

Education & Certification

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's an advantage); PEng/PE registration highly preferred; PMP or equivalent is a plus.

Experience

15–20 years in construction, including 5–7 years at Project Director/Senior PM level, with a proven track record across infrastructure, earthworks, high-rise (min. 20 storeys), and water/wastewater treatment plants.

Experience with large-scale projects (RM100 million+), G7 main contractors/listed groups, and JV/consortium or government projects is highly preferred.

Strong strategic leadership across multidisciplinary teams, with deep technical knowledge spanning infrastructure, earthworks, high-rise, and water treatment engineering.

Solid grasp of construction contracts (PAM, PWD, FIDIC, CIDB) and commercial acumen (budgeting, cost control, P&L).

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills; proficient in MS Project/Primavera P6; high integrity and safety consciousness; willing to travel between sites.
