Job summary

Khai Shian Construction Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of building construction from start to handover.

You will lead project teams, monitor progress against programme and specs, control budgets, liaise with clients and consultants, and ensure safety, quality and contractual obligations are met. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in building construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning, site coordination, and contract administration.
• Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, manpower, and resources.
• Good leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Able to work independently, lead a project team, and handle multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
• Willing to travel and be based at project sites as required.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Identify risks, delays and technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Lead and supervise project teams including Project Engineers and Site Supervisors.
• Attend site meetings and prepare regular progress reports for management and clients.
• Review drawings, specifications, work programmes and project documentation.
• Monitor costs, variation orders, claims and subcontractor payments.
• Oversee handover and rectify outstanding works and defects.

Job description

Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Identify potential project risks, delays, and technical issues, and implement effective solutions.

Review construction drawings, specifications, work programmes, and project documentation.

Ensure all works comply with relevant authority requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.

Oversee project handover and ensure outstanding works and defects are properly rectified.

Job Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in building construction, with proven experience managing construction projects.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning, site coordination, and contract administration.

Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, manpower, and resources.

Good leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Able to work independently, lead a project team, and handle multiple priorities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
