We are seeking an experienced and result-driven Project Manager to lead and execute custom automation and system integration projects from concept to final commissioning. In this role, you will bridge technical engineering teams, clients, vendors, and management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of industrial automation projects (PLC, SCADA, DCS, Robotics, Vision Systems, Material Handling, etc.).
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation models using project management tools.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including software, electrical, mechanical engineers, and field installation crews.
Financial & Budget Management
- Manage project P&L, track expenses, forecast costs, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Monitor progress, handle variation orders (VOs), and manage scope creep proactively.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and high customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular site meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify potential technical and commercial risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all projects adhere to site safety regulations, industry standards, and quality management protocols.
- Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and final system handover.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on project management experience specifically within an Automation System Integrator, Industrial Automation, or EPC environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial automation technologies (PLC/SCADA platforms, industrial networking, panel design, sensors, robotics, or drive systems).
- Certifications (Preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is an added advantage.
Skills
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, Asana, Jira, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for meetings, FAT/SAT, and commissioning as required.
- Strong written and spoken command of English (and other relevant languages depending on your client base, e.g., Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin).
