We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automation & Control Engineering Manager to lead and manage the automation engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving technical excellence, overseeing project delivery, developing engineering capabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and achieving customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent decision‑making skills to support business growth and operational excellence.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Automation & Control Engineering team.
Provide technical direction, guidance, and support to engineering staff.
Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and performance standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Build and strengthen engineering competencies through training and development programs.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and safety.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple automation projects.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality requirements.
Review and approve automation system architectures, electrical designs, and software specifications.
Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with applicable industry regulations and standards, including CE requirements.
Manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Support complex troubleshooting and resolve critical technical issues.
Coordinate resources effectively, including subcontractors and external vendors.
Provide leadership in automation solutions involving PLC, HMI, SCADA, industrial networks, robotics, and control systems.
Review and approve control system designs, electrical schematics, and software development activities.
Ensure best engineering practices, standards, procedures, and templates are implemented across projects.
Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies to improve operational performance.
Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and business development activities.
Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through quality project delivery and technical support.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, Project Management, and other departments to achieve business objectives.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Promote a strong safety culture within the department.
Review and oversee risk assessments and safety-related engineering activities.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned by Management as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
Master's Degree is an added advantage.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Automation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or System Integration environment.
At least 7 years of experience in a leadership, managerial, or Head of Department position.
Proven experience managing engineering teams, resources, budgets, and multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working in Automation Companies, Machine Builders, or System Integrator environments is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC & HMI, Allen Bradley PLC & HMI, and industrial automation systems.
Experience with electrical and control system design.
Knowledge of CAD/CAE software, preferably ePLAN.
Familiarity with industrial networks, robotics, and manufacturing automation.
Understanding of PLC programming methodologies including Ladder Logic, SCL, and related platforms.
Strong knowledge of electrical standards, machine safety requirements, and CE compliance.
