Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a capable engineer to prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects. You will regularly liaise with main contractors and project owners to provide engineering support, create comprehensive documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc) with 3–5 years of experience, strong technical and communication skills, and willingness to travel to multiple

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc) or equivalent.
• Strong technical, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient with design/visualization software such as AutoCAD.
• Familiar with applicable codes, regulations and standards.
• Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Willing to travel to different project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate, monitor and take responsibility for allocated engineering projects.
• Collaborate with main contractor and project owner to provide engineering support.
• Create and maintain project documentation at all stages.
• Ensure compliance with codes, practices, policies and standards.
• Assist in cost calculations for bids during tendering.
• Assist in costing and claims for projects.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors and their workers.
• Attend site meetings for scheduling and monitoring.
• Review tasks and implement corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring and taking responsibilities for assigned scope of engineering projects. Regularly cooperating and communicating effectively with main contractor/project owner to provide engineering support and assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring and taking responsibilities for assigned scope of engineering projects
• Regularly cooperating and communicating effectively with main contractor/project owner to provide engineering support and assistance
• Creating and maintaining proper documentation at every stage of the projects
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance of all internal and external applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specifications
• Assisting project managers in calculating project costs in the submission of bids for tendering process
• Computing and preparing project costing and project claims
• Assisting project managers in managing sub-contractors and their workers
• Attending all site meetings for proper scheduling, coordination and monitoring of site works
• Reviewing engineering tasks and initiating appropriate and necessary corrective actions promptly
• Performing other tasks as assigned by superior/manager

About you

• Possess at least a Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc) or equivalent
• Strong technical and decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills
• At least 3-5 years of working experience in the related field
• Proficient in computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
• Knowledge and familiar with applicable codes, industry rules, regulations, best practices and performance standard
• Good written and verbal communication as well as negotiation skills
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects and travel to different sites for projects
