Job summary

Convergint in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Installation Engineer to install, test, commission, and program security equipment while ensuring high-quality engineering standards. The role includes project management, on-site client training, and cross-departmental technical support.

Applicants should have an engineering degree and at least 3 years in security systems, with knowledge of AutoCAD, Lenel, and CCTV. Multinational experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Computer, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in security, electronics, or small electronic project implementation and commissioning.
• Basic IT knowledge in security hardware, network and database.

Job Description: Discovering the role

The primary responsibility of this role is the installation, testing, commissioning, and system programming of security equipment in adherence to Convergint's standards. The objective is to maintain excellent engineering project quality while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and program security equipment in compliance with company policies and standards.
• Manage projects to ensure successful completion.
• Provide technical support and assistance to Sales and other departments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to security systems.
• Conduct on-site training sessions for clients.
• Utilize AutoCAD to design security systems and create building diagrams.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge in security concepts.

Requirements

• Possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Computer, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in security, electronic, or small electronic project implementation and commissioning, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Possess basic IT knowledge in security hardware, network, and database.
• Experience with security access control systems, CCTV, and alarm system products/systems is advantageous.
• Previous exposure to Lenel, GE, Cisco, and S2 systems is a clear advantage.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Display a quick learning ability and a strong focus on client service.
