Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer for its Electrical business in Malaysia. The role focuses on managing projects, coordinating with service engineers and subcontractors, and ensuring cost control and adherence to contract milestones.

The candidate will participate in budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration while upholding QMS/EHS requirements and driving continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
• PMP certification required or preferred
• At least 2 years of project management experience

Responsibilities

• Manage projects to meet contract requirements and control costs.
• Collaborate with Eaton Service Engineers and manage subcontractors per plan.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and issue invoices per milestones.
• Manage multiple project implementations and deliveries per project requirements.
• Schedule and attend project meetings, including site meetings.
• Maintain up-to-date project costing sheets and traceable records.
• Coordinate contract administration activities (ordering, milestones, drawings, O&M submissions).
• Work with Customer Service and SCM on parts ordering, lead times and scheduling; support FAT/SAT.
• Ensure QMS/EHS compliance and promote continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

• A. Manage and control projects to meet contract requirements while ensuring cost control within the project budget.
• B. Collaborate with Eaton Service Engineers and manage subcontractors, including resource deployment, according to the project implementation plan.
• C. Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and issue invoices in accordance with contract milestones or progressive claims.
• D. Manage multiple project implementations and deliveries according to individual project requirements.
• E. Schedule and attend project meetings and discussions as required, including site meetings (technical, coordination, etc.).
• F. Maintain up-to-date project integrated costing sheets and traceable tracking records for project expenses.
• G. Manage and support contract administration activities (ordering, billing milestones, shop drawings, and O&M submissions).
• H. Work with Customer Service and Supply Chain Management (SCM) teams on parts ordering, lead times, subcontractor scheduling, resource deployment, and quality of work, and manage customer requests during FAT/SAT while supporting the Service team with results and report compilation.
• I. Be committed and responsible for Quality Management System (QMS) and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS):
  • a. Implement a process-driven and risk-based approach.
  • b. Provide necessary support to fully implement and sustain QMS/EHS.
  • c. Communicate the importance of compliance with QMS/EHS requirements across the organization.
  • d. Ensure QMS/EHS objectives are achieved.
  • e. Engage, direct, and support individuals contributing to QMS/EHS.
  • f. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Engineering discipline PMP - Project Management Professional Cert
• At least 2 years of project management experience
• Auto-CAD skill
• Good communication skill
