Job summary

NEXON ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD in Petaling Jaya is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead planning, scheduling, and execution of our electrical and construction projects.

You will supervise on-site works, coordinate with clients and authorities, prepare shop drawings and method statements, monitor progress, and ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• At least 4 years' experience in electrical/electronics projects.
• Experience managing engineering projects end-to-end.
• Knowledge of local safety standards and protocols.
• Strong electrical engineering expertise.
• Excellent communication with clients and teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Job description

1. Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budget estimates, resource allocation plans, and risk management strategies for construction and infrastructure projects.

2. Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing electrical and construction project activities from start into completion of the project.

3. Supervise on-site installation and construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.

4. Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project execution and effective communication.

5. Prepare and manage technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, work schedules, progress reports, and other project documentation.

6. Monitor project progress, manpower deployment, subcontractor performance, and resource utilization to achieve productivity and project objectives.

7. Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, quality checks, and safety assessments to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with Malaysia workplace safety and construction regulations.

8. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure workmanship and materials meet project and industry standards.

9. Ensure all project activities comply with environmental regulations, statutory requirements, and relevant industry standards.

10. Monitor project expenditures and budgets, identify potential cost overruns, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

11. Coordinate procurement activities, including material tracking, delivery scheduling, and supplier coordination.

12. Coordinate and oversee testing & commissioning activities, ensuring proper documentation and successful project handover.

13. Attend site meetings, resolve technical and operational issues, and provide timely updates to management and stakeholders.

14. Propose and enhance construction productivity practices to improve with project efficiency, workflow and resource utilization.

15. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

1. Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/ Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and other relevant professional certifications.

2. At least a minimum of 4 years of working experience in relevant industry- Electrical/Electronics

3. Experienced in managing engineering projects through strategic planning, technical execution, and end-to-end management.

4. Experience in relevant engineering applications and understanding of local safety standards and protocols.

5. Strong expertise in Electrical Engineering and related technical knowledge to support project execution and maintenance activities.

6. Excellent Communication skills to deal with clients, stakeholders, and team members effectively.

7. Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a dynamic work environment
