Job summary

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate daily on-site activities to ensure schedules and specs are met.
• Assist in preparing project plans, drawings, and technical docs.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks per engineering standards (Flange Management & JIT).
• Liaise between client and site team to address issues and coordinate solutions.
• Document progress, maintain site records, and produce progress reports.
• Support project budgets and cost tracking.
• Identify risks and safety hazards; implement mitigation measures.
• Assist with procurement, testing, and verification of requirements.
• Collaborate with health and safety personnel to ensure site safety.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and handover.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur , Johor Bahru & Bintulu on a full-time basis. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of our pre-commissioning, leak testing, FM & subsea projects. This position is essential to ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to facilitate smooth project operations and technical problem-solving.

What you'll be doing

Monitoring and coordinating daily project activities on-site to ensure compliance with project schedules and specifications

Assisting in the preparation of project plans, drawings, and technical documentation

Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks to verify work meets engineering standards and specifications (Flange Management & JIT)

Liaising between the client & our site team to address technical issues and coordinate solutions

Documenting project progress, maintaining detailed site records, and producing regular progress reports

Supporting the preparation and management of project budgets and cost tracking

Identifying potential risks and safety hazards on-site and implementing mitigation measures

Assisting with material procurement, testing, and verification of compliance with project requirements

Collaborating with health and safety personnel to ensure adherence to safety regulations and site protocols

Providing technical support during project commissioning and handover phases

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic or a related engineering discipline

2-5 years of post-qualification experience in construction project management or site engineering

Strong knowledge of FM, JIT, Chemical Cleaning, Leak Testing, Flushing and engineering standards

Proficiency in relevant software including AutoCAD, project management tools, and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements on construction sites

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Experience with P&ID, P.ISO drawing reading or other advanced project tools is preferred
