Job summary

MFS Technology (M) Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian electronics provider focusing on PCB/FPC design, manufacturing and assembly. The role involves guiding projects from early stage through PPAP, ensuring compliance with customer needs and internal capabilities.

You will coordinate with designers and planners, manage documentation like DFM and project transfer records, and support process engineers to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams on project transfers.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and DFMEA processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS 9100 and ISO 13485 standards.

Responsibilities

• Take part during Early-Stage Involvement (ESI) with customers to understand the project application, identify risks and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate with designer for circuit routing and review routing to meet customer expectations.
• Prepare single board sub material drawings (stiffener, PSA, Poron, etc.).
• Review customer project packages to ensure feasibility within internal capability; log inquiries to DFM and align with customers.
• Handle projects assigned by NPD Manager or Group leader.
• Compile and transfer project packages to designer and planner, maintain master records.
• Assist internal teams with issues during sample build and customer feedback.
• Follow up prototypes to meet timelines and monitor customer approval progress.
• Liaise with Process Planning, designer, or process engineer before production.
• Participate in Engineering sample evaluation at customer site if needed.
• Provide periodic project status reports to Department Manager.
• Coordinate with FA and prototype team for first article samples and ensure lead times.
• Compile and submit PPAP and APQP reports.
• Ensure quality management system implementation per ISO/IATF/AS standards and meet customer requirements.

Job description

1. Take part during Early-Stage Involvement (ESI) with customers to understand the project application, identify all possible risks and provide recommendations.

2. Responsible for coordinating with designer if circuit routing service is needed and review the circuit routing to ensure it meets customer expectations.

3. Prepare the single board sub material drawing (e.g.: stiffener, PSA, Poron etc.).

4. Review customer project package (Drawing, Gerber, Schematic, BOM, product specifications…etc.) to ensure the project is within internal capability. All engineering enquiries (e.g.: info discrepancies, unclear info, requirements beyond internal capability, recommendation and proposal) shall be recorded into DFM and discuss with customers to obtain agreement.

5. Responsible for handling the project being assigned by NPD Manager or Group leader.

6. Responsible to compile and transfer the project package (Customer project files, DFM, project checklist, sub material drawing, Gerber data etc.) to designer and planner, updating and maintaining the master listing/ record of project transfer.

7. Responsible for assisting the internal team with all kinds of issues that arise during sample build and customer feedback

8. Follow up Prototype to run and complete within the specific period and monitor the progress of customer approval on the Prototype lot.

9. Liaise with Process Planning, designer, or process Engineer for any new process before implementation to production.

10. Participate in Engineering sample Evaluation at customer's site if needed.

11. Provide new project status report periodically to Department Manager.

12. Coordinate with FA and prototype team for submitting first article sample. Feedback unexpected in process problem or any deviation to customers. To ensure the FA samples and report are meeting customer's lead time.

13. Compile and submit project PPAP and APQP report.

14. Responsible for ensuring the quality management system implementation and maintenance in accordance with international standard (Which applicable: ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS 9100, ISO 13485) and customer requirements are met.
