Job summary

NL Metals in Malaysia seeks a Production Engineer to plan and coordinate daily production engineering processes, develop best practices, and resolve issues to boost quality, capacity and reliability.

You will budget and monitor costs, define clear specs for assembly and testing, and collaborate on tooling development while ensuring safe operations and adherence to AS9100/ISO9001 standards. Welding/metal assembly experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or welding-related field
• 3–5 years related experience in production/assembly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Bahasa Malaysia and English compulsory; Mandarin an added advantage
• Experience with welding/metal assembly is beneficial
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards

Job description

Plan and coordinate production engineering processes on daily basis to produce high quality products and achieve the planned target.

Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.

Investigate problems, analyse root causes and derive resolutions.

Aid in budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability.

Lead and support operations to resolve technical issues, ensuring all investigation work is documented, by developing robust production processes and improving product designs, with the aim to reduce cost and improve reliability, while complying with current quality standards

Define and document clear written specifications and procedures to direct the Operations team in effective and efficient product assembly and test

Develop, document and improve required tooling and associated test jigs, in a timely manner, by liaising with the design and manufacturing teams, to guarantee product quality and operational productivity and efficiency

Maintain a safe working environment ensuring all company and regulatory standards are achieved at all times

Contribute to and deliver as part of the production engineering team in driving continuous improvement and ensuring departmental targets are met and exceeded wherever possible

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards

Previous experience with MIG/ TIG WELDING AND METAL ASSEMBLY industry would be beneficial

JOB REQUIREMENT

Candidates should at least possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or related to welding industry field

3 to 5 years related working experience

Required skill(s): Compulsory Microsoft Office application

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English is compulsory, Mandarin (is an added advantage)

Pleasant, outgoing personality, self-initiated & able to work under challenging environment

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and delegate tasks to other engineers as required

Ability to speak effectively with vendors, customers, and within organization
