Job summary

RED is seeking a fully experienced Project Electrical Engineer to be based in our Malaysia office. You will lead medium-size projects, coordinate electrical and mechanical services, and liaise with clients and contractors to ensure design integrity and compliance with standards.

Ideal candidates hold BEng or MSc, a licensed engineer status or equivalent, and are progressing toward Chartered/Professional Engineer. Proficiency with MS Office and a strong safety/code knowledge base are essential.

Qualifications

• BEng or MSc in engineering with sufficient experience.
• Licensed Engineer with MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND and relevant experience.
• Working towards Chartered/Professional Engineer status.
• Knowledge of building services, safety codes and standards.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and client liaison capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Run medium size projects and act in a client-facing role for development, design and coordination of electrical/mechanical services.
• Develop and specify control systems, instruments, and operating systems for building services.
• Survey tests and report on existing electrical/mechanical installations.
• Specify activities to ensure design, construction, installation and testing meet specs and customer requirements.
• Make day-to-day decisions on project progress and liaise with clients.
• Represent the company at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
• Perform engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet standards and requirements.
• Ensure technical content quality for trainees, graduates, and engineers.
• Validate and check designs and specifications.

We now seek a fully experienced Project Electrical Engineer to be based in our Malaysia office with the ability to inspire others and will be responsible for running medium size projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for running of medium size projects. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
• Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
• Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
• Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with and provides advice to client
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams
• Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
• Responsible for technical content and accuracy of Trainee, Graduates and Engineers
• Validation and checking of designs and specifications

Role Requirements

• BEng, MSc, and have sufficient experience
• Degree Qualified, Licensed Engineer, MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND plus appropriate experience or equivalent
• Working towards Chartered/Professional Engineer status
• Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
• Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Good understanding of BS SC and International design codes and Standards
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Ability to work to deadlines
