Job summary

SENA LETRIK (M) SDN BHD is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur team. You will design electrical systems, review designs for compliance, and support project development from conception through execution.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of electrical design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/CATIA, and a strong grasp of electrical principles, circuit design, and power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical design or similar role.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, CATIA or similar CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles, circuit design and power systems.
• Experience with electrical simulation tools.
• Familiar with IEC, IEEE and local Malaysian standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in power distribution, control systems or renewable energy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform site inspections to ensure installation works meet drawings and specs.
• Identify design or site issues and recommend rectifications.

About the role

SENA LETRIK (M) SDN BHD is seeking a talented and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the development and design of electrical systems and components. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative electrical solutions that meet our clients' requirements and industry standards. Your work will directly contribute to the successful delivery of projects and the advancement of our company's technological capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Review electrical engineering designs, including ELV and ICT systems, prepared by consultants or in-house design teams to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and project requirements.

Provide technical input on electrical space planning, design requirements and cost estimates during the project development stage.

Assist the Development Team in reviewing and monitoring authority submissions, approvals and related technical matters.

Conduct Value Engineering (VE) exercises and propose or evaluate alternative design solutions to optimise project CAPEX and OPEX without compromising quality, safety and functionality.

Participate in tender interviews and prepare tender evaluation reports for electrical, ELV and ICT packages.

Review tender submissions, technical proposals, drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders on electrical, ELV and ICT design and technical matters.

Conduct periodic site inspections and site visits to monitor electrical and ELV installation works and ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, standards and acceptable workmanship.

Identify design or site issues, provide technical recommendations and follow up on rectification works where required.

Review and assess proposed design changes, materials and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Prepare and maintain design reviews, technical reports, tender documents and other relevant project documentation.

Support project teams in resolving electrical and ELV-related technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical design or a similar engineering role

Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar CAD applications

Strong knowledge of electrical principles, circuit design, and power systems

Experience with electrical simulation tools and analysis software

Familiarity with relevant electrical standards and codes (such as IEC, IEEE, or local Malaysian standards)

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively within teams

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred: Experience in power distribution, control systems, or renewable energy applications

Preferred: Knowledge of Project Management or experience with Agile methodologies
