Job summary

Kah Chuan Architect in Cheras, Selangor is seeking a Project Architect to join our growing team. This full-time role translates architectural concepts into detailed technical drawings and construction documentation, with leadership responsibilities as a Senior Draftsman, guiding a small team and ensuring precision from concept through completion.

You will prepare plans, elevations and sections using CAD, convert design concepts from architects into accurate drawings, coordinate with engineers

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural drafting and design documentation.
• Proficiency in CAD software AutoCAD or ArchiCAD; ability to produce detailed construction drawings.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building regulations, including Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL).
• Experience across residential, commercial and institutional projects.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce dimensionally accurate drawings.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring of junior staff.
• Professional qualification such as PAM membership is advantageous.

About the role

We are seeking a Project Architect to join our growing team at our Cheras, Selangor office. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in translating architectural concepts into detailed technical drawings and construction documentation. As a Senior Draftsman, you will be responsible for producing high-quality architectural drawings, coordinating with design teams and ensuring compliance with building standards and regulations. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for precision and excellence in architectural documentation.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare comprehensive architectural drawings including plans, elevations, sections and details using CAD software and traditional drafting techniques
• Convert design concepts and sketches from architects into accurate technical drawings and construction documentation
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and other consultants to ensure consistency and accuracy across all project documentation
• Maintain detailed knowledge of building codes, regulations and standards, ensuring all drawings comply with relevant requirements
• Supervise and mentor junior drafting staff, providing guidance on drafting standards and best practices
• Review and quality-check drawings produced by team members to ensure they meet company standards
• Prepare specification sheets, material schedules and construction details as required
• Manage drawing revisions and updates throughout the design and construction phases
• Liaise with clients and contractors to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related queries

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural drafting and design documentation
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD or equivalent, with demonstrated expertise in creating detailed construction drawings
• Strong knowledge of architectural standards, building codes and Malaysian building regulations (such as the Uniform Building By-Laws)
• Proven experience in architectural drafting across various project types including residential, commercial or institutional buildings
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, dimensionally correct drawings
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers and other team members
• Leadership experience demonstrated through mentoring junior staff or supervising drawing production teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining high quality standards
• Relevant professional qualifications such as membership with the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) or equivalent certification is advantageous
