Amphenol TCS (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Production Technician (Stamping) to operate and set up stamping presses (32–120 ton), manage multiple machines, and ensure quality and quantity of manufactured parts.

The role requires SPM or equivalent, some machining experience, ability to run multiple primary machines, and willingness to work 12-hour day/night shifts. The company produces high‑speed, high‑density connectors and holds ISO certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate stamping presses (32–120 ton) and set up according to instructions.
• Perform tool setups using standard work procedures and machine software.
• Verify tooling status prior to setup and retrieve/return tooling safely.
• Run a minimum of two primary machines concurrently.
• Ensure quality and quantity targets are met for manufactured parts.
• Perform material handling and return unused stock to storage areas.
• Use vernier calipers, micrometers, and shadow graph to inspect components.
• Troubleshoot quality issues methodically and resolve defects.

Job description

Production Technician (Stamping) responsible for operating and setting up stamping presses ranging from 32 ton to 120 ton, managing multiple machines simultaneously, and ensuring quality and quantity of manufactured products.

Key responsibilities

Perform setups of stamping presses ranging from 32 ton to 120 ton using Standard Work Procedures, work instructions, and machine controlled software

Perform set-ups in a minimum amount of time

Verify the status of the tooling before beginning the set-up process

Safely retrieve and return tooling to the storage area using the proper technique

Simultaneously run a minimum of two primary machines

Responsible for the quality and quantity of products being manufactured

Perform all material handling duties required to keep a job productive

Safely retrieve materials and return unused coil/wire stock to storage areas using an electric hand-cart or fork truck

Proficiently use measuring devices (vernier calipers, micrometers, gage pins) and a shadow graph to ensure component quality

Demonstrate methodical trouble shooting skills to resolve component quality issues

Requirements

SPM or equivalent education

Some machining experience preferred

Ability to proficiently operate multiple primary machines

Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts and rotate between day and night shifts.
