Job summary

Amphenol TCS Malaysia is seeking a Metrology Technician to conduct first article measurements, mechanical tests and sample evaluations. You will support the Metrology Lab and Quality Engineering teams, helping establish workmanship standards for new products and assist with OGP programming during samples.

The role requires a mechanical engineering diploma or polytechnic certificate with 2+ years in manufacturing, plus knowledge of GD&T, SPC and measurement system analysis.

Qualifications

• Diploma or polytechnic certificate in mechanical engineering with 2+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience implementing ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO/TS16949 preferred.
• Experience with OGP Smartscope programming is an advantage.
• Knowledge of stamping, molding and connector assembly adds value.
• Strong SPC, GD&T and measurement analyses skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct First Article or Samples measurement reports for internal or customer use.
• Perform mechanical tests per product qualifications.
• Support Metrology Lab Engineer for new products or evaluations.
• Assist Quality Engineer to establish workmanship standards for new products.
• Support OGP programming during sample measurements.
• Troubleshoot and maintain testing equipment; calibrate/repair as needed.
• Participate in reliability testing of products over time.

Job description

Conduct First Article or Samples measurement report internal or to customer.

Conduct the mechanical test as per requirement in product qualifications.

Support Metrology Lab Engineer for new product or evaluation part approval.

Support Quality Engineer for establish Workmanship Standard for new products.

Support for OGP programming during samples measurements.

Support Metrology Lab to resolve customer complaint and in-process issue on failure analysis study, evaluation and test.

Conducting reliability test on products or components over period of time especially on mechanical test.

Ensuring that all testing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and in good working condition. This includes troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed.

Job Requirement

Diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering with 2 or more years of related experiences in a manufacturing environment

Polytechnics certificate holders in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in implementing ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO/TS16949 is preferred

Experience in OGP smartscope programming will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of stamping, molding and assembly process will be an added advantage

Sound knowledge of SPC application is essential and experience in capability studies and measurement system analysis.

Highly motivated with good interpersonal skills and team orientated
