Amphenol TCS Malaysia seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of all-electric, pneumatic assembly machines. You will lead technicians, perform root cause analyses, manage preventive and corrective plans, and ensure asset reliability across production lines.
The role emphasizes safety compliance, budget control, and continuous improvement, with collaboration across operations, engineering, and EHS to minimize downtime and drive energy efficiency.
Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of all-electric, pneumatic assembly machines including connectors, housing, terminals, pneumatic system and drive control system.
Key responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Maintenance
Assist the Maintenance Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of daily Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance activities
Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians
Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities.
Ensure all critical systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime
Review and approve preventive and corrective maintenance plans
Monitor work orders, service requests, and completion timelines
Ensure asset reliability and lifecycle management
Provide support in equipment process buy-off, assembly line set up and related activities
Supervise maintenance activities and coordinate with internal departments to ensure minimal operational disruption
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production machines and to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Execute planned maintenance activities to uphold equipment reliability and quality standards.
Communicate and engage closely with customers on daily operational matters, including equipment breakdowns and preventive and corrective maintenance activities, while effectively managing customer expectations
Act as the main point of contact for the service provider
Manage contract scope, deliverables, and KPIs/ Service Level Agreement (SLA)
Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of maintenance services
Validate manpower deployment, competency, and service quality
Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives
Ensure compliance with contract terms and escalation to management
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company EHS policies
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits with EHS
Promote a strong safety culture across operations
4. Compliance & Regulatory
Ensure machine complies with local authority requirements (e.g. dosh requirement)
Manage audits, inspections, and certifications
Maintain proper documentation and records for compliance
5. Budget & Cost Control
Develop and manage CAPEX, OPEX and maintenance budgets
Track maintenance contract costs and ensure value for money
Review quotations & expenditures, and control cost leakage
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service levels
6. Project & Improvement Management
Coordinate with engineering and IE teams for expansion or modifications
Drive reliability improvement and energy efficiency initiatives
7. Stakeholder Management
Work closely with internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, EHS, FM)
Communicate service performance and issues effectively
Handle escalations and ensure timely resolution
8. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Track and report KPIs such as equipment uptime, response and resolution time, preventive maintenance compliance, safety performance, and cost
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
3–5 years' experience in semiconductor industries assembly line machine maintenance
Strong technical knowledge of assembly line maintenance systems
Contract and vendor management expertise
Good understanding of regulatory compliance
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Budget and cost management capability
Hands-on experience for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues
