Job summary

Jora Malaysia is hiring for a Production Operator role to operate and monitor production lines in a high-pace environment. You will perform machine start-up, shutdown, set-up, changeovers and adjust parameters to ensure smooth material flow and meeting production targets.

Responsibilities include monitoring critical process parameters and alarms, conducting in-process quality checks, recording data, and taking first-line corrective actions while upholding 5S and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or related field.
• 1-3 years of manufacturing/production equipment experience; ceramic or automated production is a plus.
• Able to read SOPs, work instructions, manuals and process specs.

• a. Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to approved SOPs, work instructions, and production schedules.
• b. Perform machine start-up, shutdown, set-up, changeover, and authorized parameter adjustments.
• c. Ensure smooth material and product flow within the assigned production process.

2. Process Monitoring & Quality Control

• a. Monitor critical process parameters, machine status, HMI alarms, and operating conditions.
• b. Conduct in-process quality checks on product dimensions, appearance, defects, and other specified requirements.
• c. Record process parameters, production output, rejects, downtime, and abnormalities accurately.
• d. Take first-line corrective action within authorized limits and report deviations promptly.
• e. Monitor machine condition, sensors, utilities, transfer systems, and product flow throughout the shift.

3. Maintenance Support

• a. Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, minor adjustments, and first-line troubleshooting.
• b. Execute daily / preventive maintenance according to the PVM/PM schedule and assist during breakdown repairs or shutdowns.
• c. Report abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, overheating, wear, or other equipment deterioration.

4. Safety & Compliance

• a. Comply with PPE, lockout/tagout, machine safety, ISO procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
• b. Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards within the assigned production area.
• c. Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, and equipment risks immediately.

5. Documentation & Communication

• 6. Maintain accurate production, quality, maintenance, breakdown, and downtime records.
• 7. Conduct proper shift handover covering machine, output, quality, maintenance, and outstanding issues.
• 8. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and relevant teams to ensure smooth production flow.

Technical & General Skills Requirement

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment operation.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with pneumatic / hydraulic awareness.
• Familiarity with HMI operation, machine alarms, basic PLC indication, sensors, and safety interlocks.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, manuals, drawings, and process specifications.
• Ability to use basic maintenance tools and measuring instruments and record process data accurately.
• Good observation, problem-solving, fault-finding, quality awareness, and attention to detail.
• Good teamwork, communication, reporting skills, and ability to work independently during shifts.
• Strong safety and 5S awareness; willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, or shutdowns when required.

Professional / Technical Qualification(s)

• Certificate, Diploma, SKM, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years of manufacturing / production equipment experience; ceramic or automated production experience is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC/HMI, preventive maintenance, quality and safety; able to follow SOPs and use basic tools.
