Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of production processes, machinery and troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of quality control, 5S, Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production processes, machines and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Perform machine and process setup according to work instructions and production requirements.
• Troubleshoot process, machine and equipment problems and identify root causes.
• Monitor output, productivity, yield, cycle time, downtime and process efficiency.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance of production equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Report machine breakdowns and production issues to the supervisor or engineer.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring problems.
• Ensure products and processes comply with quality standards and specifications.
• Support investigations involving defective products and non-conforming materials.
• Assist in testing, validation and verification of new processes, machines, tools and equipment.

1. Job Purpose

The Process Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and supporting production processes to ensure smooth, efficient and safe operations. The position assists engineers and production personnel in troubleshooting process and equipment issues, improving productivity and maintaining product quality in accordance with company procedures and standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production processes, machines and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.


• Perform machine and process setup according to approved work instructions, specifications and production requirements.


• Troubleshoot process, machine and equipment problems and identify possible root causes.


• Monitor production output, productivity, yield, cycle time, downtime and process efficiency.


• Conduct routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance of production equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures.


• Report machine breakdowns, abnormal process conditions and production issues to the relevant supervisor or engineer.


• Assist in carrying out root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring production problems.


• Ensure products and processes comply with established quality standards and specifications.


• Support investigations involving rejected, defective or non-conforming products.


• Assist in testing, validation and verification of new processes, machines, tools and equipment.


• Prepare and maintain production-related technical records, checklists, reports and process documentation.


• Assist in preparing and updating Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), process flow documents and other relevant technical documents.


• Support continuous improvement activities relating to productivity, quality, cost reduction, waste reduction and cycle-time improvement.


• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering departments to resolve process-related issues.


• Provide technical guidance and support when required.


• Ensure all production activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, safety requirements and approved procedures.


• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices in the production and working areas.


• Ensure proper handling and care of machines, tools, equipment and company property.


• Participate in internal audits, process audits and improvement activities when required.


• Comply with all applicable occupational safety, health, environmental and quality requirements.


• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the superior from time to time.

3. Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma / Certificate in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field.


• Fresh graduates are highly encouraged


• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an advantage.


• Basic knowledge of production processes, machinery and troubleshooting techniques.


• Knowledge of quality control, 5S, Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement will be an advantage.


• Good technical and problem-solving skills.


• Able to identify and troubleshoot basic machine and process problems.


• Good analytical and observation skills.


• Able to read and understand technical drawings, work instructions and process specifications.


• Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.


• Good communication and teamwork skills.


• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.


• Responsible, disciplined and safety-conscious.


• Willing to work overtime, shifts or weekends when required by production needs.

The position is primarily based in the production/manufacturing area and may require frequent standing, walking and interaction with machinery and production personnel. The employee may be required to work shifts, overtime or during weekends depending on operational requirements.
