Job summary

MKA Cabinet & Design (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee factory operations, coordinate schedules, maintain quality, and lead the production team to deliver projects on time.

You will manage production planning, material control, quality checks, packing, machinery safety, and people management while collaborating with logistics, sales and installation teams. Strong Excel skills and English/Malay fluency are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in production supervision in any manufacturing industry
• Strong leadership and ability to manage workers and maintain discipline
• Strong planning and organisational skills, able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Comfortable with paperwork, reports and documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data handling
• Good communication skills, able to work with sales, planning, purchasing and installation teams
• Fluent in English and Malay; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage
• Experience in furniture or cabinetry, or knowledge of CNC is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Oversee production planning and schedule management to meet project delivery dates
• Coordinate with BOM, technical, purchasing and installation teams to resolve production issues
• Monitor material availability, wastage, and stock levels; manage monthly stock takes
• Ensure quality checks at every stage and final QC before delivery
• Label panels and cabinets by project and cabinet number; ensure safe, well-packaged delivery
• Organise routine maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimise downtime
• Manage manpower allocation, attendance, overtime and training; evaluate performance
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on output, progress, delays and rework

Job description

A growing customised cabinetry company is seeking a hands-on, management-minded Production Supervisor to oversee factory operations, coordinate production schedules, maintain quality standards, and lead the production team to achieve on-time project delivery.

Responsibilities

Production Planning

Plan and arrange production schedules based on project delivery and installation dates

Manage the Kanban system and keep production status updated for every project

Work with our Technical Consultant and BOM Manager to resolve any technical issues before and during production

Coordinate with logistics and installation teams so complete sets are ready on time

Material Control

Check that boards, edge banding and hardware are ready before production starts

Inform purchasing of any shortages in advance

Monitor material wastage and offcuts

Assist with factory stock control and monthly stock take

Quality Control

Make sure quality checks are carried out at every stage of production

Make sure final QC is done before delivery

Follow up on rework and site replacement orders, and help prevent repeat mistakes

Packing & Labelling

Make sure all panels and cabinets are labelled correctly by project and cabinet number

Make sure products are well protected to minimise damage during delivery

Machinery & Safety

Arrange routine maintenance for factory machines

Coordinate repairs to minimise machine downtime

Enforce workplace safety and 5S practices

People Management

Assign manpower and workstations

Manage worker discipline, attendance and overtime

Arrange training for new workers

Evaluate worker performance together with HR

Reporting

Prepare daily and weekly reports on output, progress, delays and rework

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in production supervision in any manufacturing industry

Strong leadership skills, able to manage workers and maintain discipline

Strong planning and organisational skills, able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

Comfortable with paperwork, reports and documentation

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Good communication skills, able to work with sales, planning, purchasing and installation teams

Fluent in English and Malay; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.

Experience in furniture or cabinetry, or knowledge of CNC, is an advantage
