Job summary

Koda Woodcraft Sdn Bhd, a leading furniture manufacturer in Malaysia, seeks an Assistant Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team, supervise carpenters, and drive product development and process improvements. You will oversee CNC machinery, CAD drawings, and production engineering activities to ensure quality and efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing (furniture/woodworking) with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, plus Mandarin proficiency

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably furniture/woodworking with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing, CNC machinery and CAD drawings.
• Experience in product development, process improvement and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading the engineering team, including engineering staff and carpenters.
• Oversee furniture product development, technical drawings, prototypes and production feasibility.
• Improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste and costs.
• Oversee CNC machinery, CAD drawings, tooling and production engineering activities.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to support the management and coordination of engineering operations in our furniture manufacturing factory. The role involves overseeing product development, managing the engineering team, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring production efficiency, product quality and cost control. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing and other departments to achieve the company's operational objectives.
