Bayan Lepas, Penang, is seeking a Production Operations leader to drive daily production activities and ensure SQDPC targets are met, while aligning with safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost goals. The role focuses on optimizing manpower, machine, and material usage, monitoring hourly output, coordinating with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Maintenance, and leading Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to raise

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, 5S and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage KPIs.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to meet SQDPC objectives.

Lead daily production activities to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost (SQDPC) objectives.

Ensure production output meets daily schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Optimize manpower, machine, and material utilization to maximize operational efficiency.

Monitor hourly production performance and implement immediate recovery actions when targets are not achieved.

Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance to ensure smooth production flow.

Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Visual Management, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Improve labor productivity through manpower balancing, line balancing, and waste elimination.

Lead Kaizen and process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance.

Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Lead daily production activities to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost (SQDPC) objectives.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Visual Management, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Improve labor productivity through manpower balancing, line balancing, and waste elimination.

• Lead Kaizen and process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance.

• Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.

Quality Management

• Promote a "Do It Right the First Time" quality culture.

• Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.

• Lead investigations into production quality issues using Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, PDCA).

• Manage Non-Conformance Notices (NCN), corrective actions, preventive actions, and customer complaint investigations.

Safety & Workplace Management

• Ensure compliance with company Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and safe work practices.

• Conduct daily safety briefings and promote hazard awareness.

• Maintain high standards of workplace organization through 5S and Visual Management.

• Investigate production incidents and implement preventive measures.

People Leadership

• Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop production operators and line leaders.

• Conduct daily production meetings, shift handovers, and performance reviews.

• Manage manpower allocation, attendance, overtime, and employee discipline.

• Identify training needs and develop team competency to build a high-performance workforce.

Reporting & Performance

• Monitor and report key production KPIs, including:

  • Productivity & Labor Efficiency

  • Production Output

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD)

  • First Pass Yield (FPY)

  • Scrap & Rework

  • Downtime

  • Attendance & Overtime

  • 5S Audit Results

  • NCN Closure Status

• Analyze production performance and recommend improvement initiatives to management.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production working environment.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.

• Support production-related projects and improvement activities as assigned.

• Perform any other duties, responsibilities, or ad-hoc assignments assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
