Job summary

Career International in Malaysia is seeking a Production Planner to oversee production planning for products supplied or manufactured locally. You will provide planning and technical support to Team Leaders and Sales staff on production control, lead times and stock availability.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma and 4+ years of experience with computerized planning systems such as SAP, and has strong capacity planning, production control, cost estimation and supplier negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma education is required.
• 4+ years of experience in computerized planning systems such as SAP or similar.
• Experience with capacity planning and production control.
• Experience in cost estimating and supplier/sub-contractor negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Create Bills of Materials, Process Routings and Work Orders.
• Supplier and sub-contractor selection and commercial negotiation.
• Plan production Work Orders to meet customer due dates.
• Maintain and improve accuracy of MRP planning system.
• Monitor workload and liaise with Team Leaders to ensure timely work.
• Coordinate and supervise sub-contract work as required.
• Coordinate customer priorities with Team Leaders on deliveries.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Search for lower cost alternative suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Prepare lead time reports for sales when requested.

About the role
