Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead IQC for incoming materials, manage schedules, and drive root-cause analysis through standard procedures. You will audit suppliers, collaborate with buyers, and ensure quality targets are met across production.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in quality or engineering, experience with 8D methods, and knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/13485. Strong data skills and cross-functional teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or related field.
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards (9001, 14001, 13485) is advantageous.
• Experience with 8D problem solving and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead IQC for raw materials and components and verify specifications.
• Manage IQC input/output schedules to meet production timelines.
• Create and maintain SIPs (Standard Inspection Procedures).
• Handle material quality issues and containment of non-conforming materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

IQC & Schedule Management

• Lead technicians to execute incoming quality control (IQC) for raw materials and components and verify material specifications to ensure compliance.
• Manage IQC input/output schedules to optimize inspection efficiency and meet production timelines.
• Create, update, and maintain Standard Inspection Procedures (SIP).

Material Exception & Failure Analysis

• Handle material quality issues and exceptions, managing the containment and disposition of non-conforming materials.
• Conduct preliminary failure analysis (FA) on materials, collect background data, and assist suppliers in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Assist in resolving material quality issues escalated from the server production lines.

Supplier Quality Management & Cross-Functional Support

• Provide timely feedback on quality issues to supplier quality windows and track/review corrective action reports (CAR/8D).
• Conduct supplier audits (QPA/QSA) and provide counseling or technical guidance when necessary.
• Collaborate with buyers to provide technical support and material quality evaluations.

Data Analysis & Record Maintenance

• Review and analyze IQC team inspection data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and meet department goals.
• Review, maintain and analyze quality issue reports and inspection records.

Qualifications:

• Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) and/or Incoming Quality Engineer (IQE) Experience:Ideally candidate possess a minimum of3 yearsof experience in supplier quality management within computer manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, and/or Incoming Quality Control (IQC) materials inspection.
• Education Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or a related field. Candidates with relevant certifications and extensive working experience in the Electrical & Electronic Industry will also be considered.
• Proficiency in Computer and Office Applications:Demonstrate advanced proficiency with personal computers (PC) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), including data analysis and report generation will be advantage.
• Multilingual Communication Skills:Ideally candidate who fluent in English, Malay and Chinese being highly advantageous, to facilitate effective communication with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:Apply robust 8D analytical skills to identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems: Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 standards and other relevant quality management systems (QMS) is highly advantage, ensuring adherence to international best practices in quality assurance.
• Ability to Train and Mentor:Capability to effectively train junior technicians and share expertise, fostering a culture of quality and continuous learning within the team.
• Experience in System Assembly: Ideally candidate with experience in L6 to L10 System Assembly is highly desirable and advantage.
• Professional skills in System Level Components: Preferable with exposure to areas such as CPU, memory, HDS, GPU, cable, PCBA materials, plastic materials, and mechanical parts, would be an added advantage to the candidate.
