Job summary

Intercosmo Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production Planner for our Balakong operations in Selangor. You will optimise production schedules, coordinate resources, and support on-time delivery across our manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in production planning or a similar role in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and production planning software.
• Strong data analysis and decision-making based on metrics.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across departments.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and regulatory requirements is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules that optimise resource utilisation while meeting delivery dates and targets.
• Analyse demand forecasts and sales orders to determine production requirements and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement and quality teams to ensure materials, equipment and workforce are available when required.
• Monitor production progress and identify delays or bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
• Manage inventory levels and WIP to minimise carrying costs while ensuring adequate stock for continuity.
• Prepare and present production reports to management with metrics, variances and improvement recommendations.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure plans include quality controls.
• Utilise planning software to forecast demand, track progress and generate scheduling reports.

About the role

Intercosmo Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing operations team. This is a full-time position based in Balakong, Selangor, where you will play a crucial role in optimising our production schedules and ensuring efficient operations across our manufacturing facilities. As Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating production activities, managing resource allocation, and ensuring that all manufacturing operations meet our quality standards and delivery deadlines. This role is fundamental to maintaining our competitive edge and supporting the strategic objectives of Intercosmo Industries Sdn Bhd.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules that optimise resource utilisation whilst meeting customer delivery dates and production targets
• Analyse demand forecasts and sales orders to determine production requirements and adjust schedules accordingly
• Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement and quality teams to ensure materials, equipment and workforce are available when required
• Monitor production progress and identify potential delays or bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence
• Manage inventory levels and work-in-progress to minimise carrying costs whilst ensuring adequate stock for production continuity
• Prepare and present production reports to management, highlighting performance metrics, variances and recommendations for improvement
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure production plans incorporate quality control requirements
• Utilise production planning software and tools to forecast demand, track production progress and generate scheduling reports

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or a related role within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in production planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions based on data and production metrics
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and report preparation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
• Experience with demand forecasting and inventory management is preferred
• Familiarity with manufacturing compliance and regulatory requirements is advantageous
