About the role

We are seeking a Planning Specialist to join RIFENG MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. in Klang, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our production and supply chain operations. As a Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective production schedules, demand forecasting, and inventory management strategies that directly impact our manufacturing efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role is strategic in nature and sits at the intersection of production, logistics, and business planning, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and meet our corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity analysis, and resource availability
• Analyse and manage inventory levels across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to optimise working capital
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of materials
• Prepare demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and sales projections to inform production planning
• Monitor production performance against schedules and identify bottlenecks or variances requiring corrective action
• Implement and maintain planning systems and tools to enhance visibility and decision-making across the supply chain
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance competing priorities such as minimising lead times, reducing costs, and maintaining product quality
• Prepare regular reports and metrics on planning performance, highlighting trends and recommendations for improvement
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within production and planning operations

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in planning software and tools such as ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across multiple departments
• Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling principles, and inventory management best practices
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and attention to accuracy
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable
• Knowledge of the manufacturing sector, particularly in the HVAC, plumbing fixtures, or related industries, is preferred
