Job summary

JHM ENGINEERING SDN BHD, a precision engineering and fabrication company in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate daily and weekly production with customer POs and machine capacity.

The role requires 1–3 years in production/material planning or purchasing in manufacturing, strong Excel and ERP/MRP skills (SAP, SQL, NAV, Autocount), and knowledge of BOM and ISO 9001. Fresh graduates with internship are welcome.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in relevant field.
• 1-3 years in Production Planning / Material Planning / Purchasing in manufacturing; fresh grads with internship may be considered.
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot) and ERP/MRP systems (SAP, SQL, NAV, Autocount).
• Understands BOM, MRP, Lead Time and ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily/weekly production schedules based on customer POs and machine capacity.
• Coordinate with Production, Store, QC & Sales to ensure OTIF delivery.
• Monitor material shortages, WIP, and release production orders in the system.
• Manage purchasing of raw materials, components, and consumables; obtain quotations and negotiate price/lead time.
• Control stock levels, safety stock and prevent stockout/overstock.
• Evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality and delivery.

POSITION: Production Planner

Location: Batu Maung, Penang | Type: Full-Time

About Us:

JHM ENGINEERING SDN BHD is a precision engineering and fabrication company supporting the EMS / Semiconductor industries around Bayan Lepas.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Production Planning:
• Plan daily / weekly production schedules based on customer POs and machine capacity.
• Coordinate with Production, Store, QC & Sales teams to ensure OTIF delivery.
• Monitor material shortages, WIP, and release production orders in the system.
• Prepare reports for Daily Production Status, Clear-to-Build & Material Shortage.
• 2. Purchasing Planner:
• Manage purchasing of raw materials, components, and consumables - obtain quotations, price comparison, price & lead time negotiation.
• Local purchasing is on a routine basis, while overseas / import purchasing is on an ad-hoc basis depending on projects.
• Control stock levels, safety stock and prevent stockout / overstock.
• Evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality and delivery.

Requirements:

• - Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Admin (Operations), Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• - 1-3 years of experience in Production Planning / Material Planning / Purchasing in a manufacturing environment is PREFERRED. Fresh graduates with factory internship experience may be considered.
• - Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot) and experienced in using ERP / MRP systems (SAP, SQL, NAV, Autocount).
• - Understands BOM, MRP, Lead Time and ISO 9001.
• - Able to communicate with suppliers, disciplined and able to work under delivery pressure.
• - Malaysian citizen and able to work in Batu Maung.

Added Advantage:

• - Experience in Precision Machining / Sheet Metal / Jig & Fixture industry.
