We are recruiting an experienced Production Manager for a precision manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee machining activities, guide production teams and ensure reliable delivery through effective control of quality, productivity and costs. This position requires a visible presence on the production floor and the ability to turn performance data into practical improvements.
Oversee CNC turning, milling and multi-axis machining activities to achieve planned quantities, quality standards and delivery commitments
Organise staffing, shift arrangements and work allocation according to production requirements
Guide supervisors, engineers and operators, maintaining effective handovers, clear responsibilities and prompt resolution of operational concerns
Review production indicators, including equipment effectiveness, output rates, machining time and material losses, and address areas affecting performance
Work with Planning and Engineering to coordinate schedules, improve workflow and balance production capacity
Collaborate with Quality to investigate defects, identify underlying causes and maintain consistent process controls
Partner with Maintenance to reduce equipment downtime, resolve recurring machine problems and reinforce basic equipment care by operators
Improve manufacturing cost performance by increasing workforce productivity, using equipment effectively and reducing scrap and repeat work
Implement Lean and Kaizen improvements to streamline processes and expand production capability
Maintain safe working conditions and ensure teams follow established EHS requirements and operating procedures
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
8-12 years of relevant experience in CNC manufacturing, with at least 3 years in production supervision or management
Technical understanding of turning, milling and multi-axis machining
Experience managing production schedules, balancing workloads and improving machining processes
Working knowledge of OEE, Lean practices, root cause investigation and manufacturing performance measures
Demonstrated ability to manage sizeable teams operating across different shifts
Practical, accountable leadership with strong analytical skills and clear communication
Experience in high-volume precision manufacturing serving HDD, automotive, medical or electronics applications is advantageous
Familiarity with multiple production lines, automated processes or smart manufacturing systems will be beneficial
