Kanry Search seeks an experienced General Manager to oversee our plant operations in Malaysia, driving Lean Six Sigma improvements and strong financial discipline. You will lead a large manufacturing team, set strategic targets, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the operation.
The successful candidate will have a mechanical engineering degree, 10+ years in precision manufacturing, and a proven track record in tooling, CNC, and automation.
An experienced General Manager is sought to oversee plant operations and strengthen manufacturing performance. This role combines hands-on operational leadership with business improvement, financial discipline and team development. You will guide the organisation through change, establish consistent operating practices and build a stronger management team to support sustained performance.
Key responsibilities
Oversee all plant activities, ensuring manufacturing operations support business priorities and delivery commitments.
Set performance targets and monitor equipment effectiveness, production yield, material wastage, operating costs and delivery reliability.
Embed Lean and Six Sigma practices to improve workflow, eliminate inefficiencies and sustain operational gains.
Strengthen process consistency, production reliability and accountability throughout the plant.
Lead approximately 1000 employees and develop capable supervisors and managers who can take greater operational ownership.
Contribute to plant P&L management, annual budgets, expenditure controls and capital investment planning.
Drive transformation initiatives that improve productivity, quality, cost performance and manufacturing capability.
Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve operational challenges and align improvement priorities.
Uphold workplace safety, product quality and applicable regulatory requirements.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 10 years of experience within precision manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years of experience in precision tooling and minimum 5 years of experience with CNC technology.
Strong technical understanding of CNC machining, metal stamping and automated inspection systems.
Demonstrated success in managing plant operations and leading large manufacturing teams.
Experience delivering operational transformation or measurable continuous improvement projects.
Sound understanding of plant financial performance, budgeting and manufacturing cost control.
Practical knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and manufacturing performance indicators.
Strong leadership, analytical thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into shopfloor execution.
