AKT Components Sdn Bhd is seeking a production planning professional to translate customer orders into production plans. You will schedule activities across CNC machining environments, monitor progress, and adjust plans to meet delivery commitments.
The role requires 3–5 years in production planning, familiarity with ERP systems, and strong analytical skills. English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential; Mandarin is an advantage. A competitive salary and benefits are offered.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and delivery requirements.
Schedule production according to machine capacity, manpower, material availability, and production priorities.
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules when there are delays, urgent orders, machine breakdowns, or other production issues.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, QA, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales departments to ensure smooth production flow.
Machine & Capacity Planning
Review machine capacity and production loading to ensure realistic production schedules.
Understand basic CNC machining processes and machine capabilities.
Consider machine availability, setup time, cycle time, tooling, and process requirements when planning production.
Monitor machine utilization and identify potential capacity constraints.
Coordinate with Production and Engineering when alternative machines or processes are required.
Material & Order Follow-Up
Check material availability and follow up with Purchasing / Warehouse on shortages.
Monitor production orders and ensure materials, drawings, tooling, and other requirements are available before production.
Follow up on outstanding jobs and prioritize production according to customer requirements.
Production Monitoring
Monitor daily production output against the planned schedule.
Identify delays, bottlenecks, and potential delivery risks.
Escalate production issues promptly and coordinate corrective actions.
Provide regular updates on production status and delivery commitments.
Planning Reports & Data
Prepare production planning and scheduling reports.
Maintain accurate production planning records in ERP systems.
Monitor key planning indicators such as production achievement, machine utilization, production lead time, and on-time delivery.
Analyze production data and recommend improvements to planning efficiency.
Diploma / Degree in Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in a machining or precision manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of CNC machines and machining processes is highly advantageous.
Able to understand basic machine capabilities, production processes, cycle times, and production capacity.
Experience with ERP systems and production planning software.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Good communication skills and able to coordinate effectively with different departments.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Mandarin is an added advantage.
