We are seeking an experienced CNC Production Manager to lead high-volume machining operations and drive improvements across productivity, machine utilisation, quality, cost and delivery performance.
The successful candidate should have strong exposure to CNC turning, milling and multi-axis machining, together with proven experience managing production teams in a precision manufacturing environment. This role requires someone who is comfortable working closely with shopfloor teams, analysing production performance and implementing practical improvements.
Manage day-to-day CNC production activities and ensure output targets are achieved according to schedule.
Oversee machining operations involving CNC turning, milling and multi-axis processes.
Monitor production performance including OEE, machine utilisation, throughput, cycle time, yield, scrap and rework.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve operational stability.
Drive productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives across machining lines.
Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to improve machining processes, process capability and product quality.
Lead root cause investigation and corrective actions for recurring production or quality issues.
Coordinate with Maintenance to minimise equipment downtime and improve machine availability.
Manage supervisors, engineers, technicians and operators across production shifts.
Ensure proper manpower allocation, shift handover and production control.
Support production planning to ensure materials, manpower and machine capacity are aligned with customer demand.
Monitor manufacturing costs and drive improvements in labour efficiency, machine utilisation and scrap reduction.
Lead continuous improvement activities using Lean, Kaizen and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Support capacity expansion, new equipment installation, process ramp-up and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
Maintain strong shopfloor discipline and ensure compliance with company safety and operational standards.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
Around 8–12 years of experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
At least 3–5 years in a production leadership or management role.
Strong working knowledge of CNC turning, milling and multi-axis machining operations.
Good understanding of machining productivity, cycle-time improvement, line balancing and production planning.
Familiar with manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, yield, machine utilisation, scrap rate and throughput.
Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen or continuous improvement tools.
Able to lead large production teams in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a hands-on approach to shopfloor operations.
Able to communicate effectively across Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning and Maintenance functions.
