Job summary

Compart Systems Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Production Manager to lead the manufacturing operations at Plant 1 or Plant 2.

The role focuses on productivity, quality, on-time delivery, and OEE in a CNC and precision manufacturing environment, with strong CNC knowledge and quality-system familiarity. The ideal candidate will manage daily plant activities, drive process improvements, and collaborate with PPC, Engineering and Quality teams to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in CNC manufacturing or machining.
• Proven experience managing production operations, supervisors and shop-floor employees.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, machining processes and troubleshooting.
• Experience in productivity improvement, cycle-time reduction and OEE improvement.
• Familiarity with production planning, quality control and on-time delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily manufacturing activities across the assigned plant.

• Collaborate with PPC, Engineering and Quality to select machinery, tooling and equipment meeting customer requirements.
• Lead regular meetings with Production Supervisors to review productivity, quality and on-time delivery targets.
• Develop and maintain a production workforce skill matrix and identify training needs.
• Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing process flow and cycle time; reduce downtime.
• Provide technical advice and hands-on support in troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues.
• Ensure production processes deliver outputs meeting operational targets and conform to QMS.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to lead the manufacturing operations of Plant 1 or Plant 2. This role is responsible for driving productivity, quality, on-time delivery, equipment effectiveness and continuous improvement within a CNC and precision-manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong CNC technical knowledge, proven production leadership experience and familiarity with recognised quality and environmental management systems.

Key responsibilities

Manage and supervise daily manufacturing activities across the assigned plant.

Drive improvements in productivity, manufacturing processes and product quality while reducing machine downtime.

Work closely with PPC, Engineering and Quality teams to select suitable machinery, tooling and equipment that meet customer requirements.

Conduct regular meetings with Production Supervisors to review and achieve productivity, quality, on-time delivery and OEE targets.

Develop and maintain a production workforce skill matrix.

Identify training needs and provide relevant technical development to support advanced manufacturing technology and internal career progression.

Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing process flow, reduce cycle time and increase operational competitiveness.

Provide technical advice and hands-on support in troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues.

Ensure production processes deliver their intended outputs and meet established operational targets.

Ensure the Quality Management System conforms to applicable standards and company requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing or another related field.

At least 6 years of relevant experience in CNC manufacturing or machining.

Proven experience managing production operations, supervisors and shop-floor employees.

Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machines, machining processes, tooling and production troubleshooting.

Experience in productivity improvement, cycle-time reduction, machine downtime reduction and OEE improvement.

Good understanding of production planning, quality control and on-time delivery requirements.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and cross-functional communication skills.

Familiarity with AS9100, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 management systems.

Experience in precision manufacturing, semiconductor or other high-mix manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
